Privacy Statement

Since the site is maintained in cooperation with the New York District Export Council and the U.S. Export Assistance Center of the US Department of Commerce, this privacy statement is included. The International Trade Administration (ITA) of the Department of Commerce, assists U.S. companies to export and enforces laws which protect American companies from unfair trade practices. This requires the collection of company data and, in some cases, personal information. Most sensitive business information is protected from disclosure by the Trade Secrets Act. The policy of the International Trade Administration with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information is to ensure compliance with applicable Federal Laws, including, but not limited to, the Privacy Act of 1974, the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, and the Freedom of Information Act. In addition, ITA also adheres to the Principles for Providing and Using Personal Information ("Privacy Principles"), published by the Information Infrastructure Task Force on June 6, 1995.
