FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

  • Export.gov - A website that aggregates the export services and resources of the U.S. Department of Commerce, OPIC, Ex-Im Bank, Department of Energy, USTDA, Department of State, USDA, SBA and Department of the Treasury

  • U.S. Commercial Service - Provides trade-related services; market research, trade leads, trade show directories, company directories to help U.S. companies get started in exporting or increase sales to new global markets.

  • U.S. Small Business Administration - Provides small businesses with financing opportunities, entrepreneurial development, government contracting and advocacy on Capitol Hill.

  • U.S. Small Business Administration Office of International Trade - Works in cooperation with other federal agencies and public- and private-sector groups to encourage small business exports and to assist small businesses seeking to export.

  • US Export Assistance Centers in the New York DEC Region - U.S. Export Assistance Centers are staffed by professionals from the the U.S. Department of Commerce, SBA, the U.S. Export-Import Bank, and other public and private organizations.

  • International Trade Administration - Strengthens the competitiveness of U.S. industry, promotes trade and investment, and ensures fair trade through the rigorous enforcement of our trade laws and agreements. 

  • Market Access and Compliance - Defends U.S. rights under trade agreements, expands market and promotes favorable business environments for American companies.

  • U.S. Department of Commerce - Promotes job creation, economic growth, sustainable development and improved standards of living for all Americans by working in partnership with businesses, universities, communities and our nation’s workers.

  • U.S. Department of State - Resources for individuals and companies regarding foreign policies, current events, diplomacy, national security, education, economics, travel/passports and careers.

  • U.S. Trade Representative - Responsible for developing and coordinating U.S. international trade, commodity, and direct investment policy, and overseeing negotiations with other countries.

  • U.S. International Trade Commission - Provides the President and the U.S. Trade Representative with independent, quality analysis, information, and support on matters relating to tariffs and international trade and competitiveness.

  • U.S. Patent and Trademark Office - Federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks to protect American inventors and industry.

  • Agency for International Development - Carries out U.S. foreign policy by promoting human progress at the same time it expands stable, free societies, creates markets and trade partners for the United States, and fosters good will abroad.

  • Bureau of Industry and Security - BIS (formerly BXA) - Protects the security of the United States, which includes its national security, economic security, cyber security, and homeland security. BIS supports national defense and technology development.

  • Census (International Trade Statistics) - The official source for U.S. export and import statistics. It is responsible for issuing regulations governing the reporting of all export shipments from the United States.

  • Center for Disease Control - Collaborates to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health – through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats.

  • Customs and Border Protection - Its priority mission is keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the U.S. It also has a responsibility for securing and facilitating trade and travel while enforcing hundreds of U.S. regulations, including immigration and drug laws.

  • Department of Agriculture - Provides leadership on food, agriculture, natural resources, and related issues based on sound public policy, the best available science, and efficient management.

  • Department of Treasury - Responsible for promoting economic prosperity and ensuring the financial security of the United States. It also advises the President on economic and financial issues.

  • Office of Foreign Assets Control, Licensing - Administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries and regimes, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and other threats to the national security, foreign policy or economy of the United States.

  • Export-Import Bank - Enables U.S. companies — large and small — to turn export opportunities into real sales that help to maintain and create U.S. jobs and contribute to a stronger national economy.

  • Federal Business Opportunities - Databank of thousands of federal opportunities for buyers, vendors, other agencies and individuals.​

  • Federal Communications Commission - Regulates interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.

  • Federal Trade Commission (Country of Origin) - Responsible for preventing deception and unfairness in the marketplace. The FTC Act gives the Commission the power to bring law enforcement actions against false or misleading claims that a product is of U.S. origin.

  • Federal Register - The official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents.

  • National Institute of Standards and Technology - Promotes U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.

  • Office of Service Industries - Enhances U.S. services industries’ competitiveness to increase exports and support their commercial interests.

  • Office of Finance and Insurance Industries - Works to achieve the goals of expanding US financial services exports, attracting investment to the United States, and facilitating the growth and development of new and inclusive segments of finance. 

  • Office of Trade and Economic Analysis - Evaluates the potential effects of U.S government regulations and domestic policies on industries. Maximizes U.S. gains in trade negotiations. Provides trade and industry data.

  • U.S. Government Printing Office - Provides publishing and dissemination services for the official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal agencies, Federal depository libraries, and the American public.

  • U.S. Trade and Development Agency - Links U.S. businesses to export opportunities by funding project planning activities, pilot projects, and reverse trade missions while creating sustainable infrastructure and economic growth in partner countries.
